Ending the practice of banning pregnant girls from schools

This is so true. What are we doing to drive this?

Though most countries have signed and ratified international treaties that uphold gender equality, this commitment is not always sufficiently clear where education is concerned. In many places, discriminatory practices that keep pregnant girls out of classrooms continue to exist.

It has become a routine practice to administer pregnancy tests in schools in the United Republic of Tanzania, which has one of the highest adolescent pregnancy rates in the world. According to Human Rights Watch (HRW), some 8,000 girls are expelled every year for being pregnant. As recently as last year, John Magufuli, Tanzania’s President, said that no pregnant girls would be allowed to go back to school. The expulsion of pregnant girls from schools has also been reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo.2. RIGHTS & REALITY

Persistence

Persistence

Persistence I have learnt is the key to life.

To persevere is far greater than many of those qualities we are told are crucial to achieving happiness and success.

At the (what feels extremely old) age of 27 I feel had I just been more persist, more patient and more focused there was so much I could and should have achieved. But what has gone, will never return. A promise to myself is to not give up, to not lose hope and to not dedicate myself on that which is not mine to keep. Its time to persist in my passion…. and maybe this time … some magic will unfold. ان شاء الله تعالى

Don’t be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth.

The heart wants what it wants….

The heart wants what it wants….

And the heart gets what is wants? Im truly starting to believe this.

Every single day, we are saved in a million ways from that which we wouldn’t really want. I say saved, because often times we sit there waiting and working towards goals which would lead us away from our real most deepest passions.  Something, so magical isn’t it. I’ve seen so many times now that … Allah in His infinite mercy has saved me a million times in the most subtle of ways, more recently in the most grandest of ways. I am just left in awe.

Dua truly is the weapon of the believer. It is the source of attaining that which we desire, but magically (is that even the right word) often dua wards off that which we are praying for because the Lord knows that which our heart will find peace and contentment in. Thats just one tiny (but mahoosive) WORLDLY benefit of a tiny whisper said in the middle of the night or day…. Subhan Allah.

For a couple of years now, this belief in magical moments happening in my totally ordinary life has been damped by several external factors. But…. the Lord has allowed me to feel all renewed (and its only day 4 of Ramadan) so what are you waiting for…. pour out your hearts desires to the one that creates doors where there was no path… see your dreams come true.

The Heart: Fu’aad, Qalb & Sadr

The Heart: Fu’aad, Qalb & Sadr

As a seeker of understanding and lover of language, I had to find the depth of this word…. HEART. I found no better place to start to gain a better understanding (with my limited knowledge) than the Qu’ran.

The Qu’ran uses more than just one word to describe this ENORMOUS organ, of course its not that big in its physical form BUT is it is a pretty BIG deal. I mean we kind of need. Its pretty enormous in its duties though, in its power, and in its ability to get sick and make YOU sick (or better).

Qalb…

This is one of the most used term in the Qu’ran for the heart. More of a general term but looking a little closer and we find the word Qalb means ‘to turn over’.

TO TURN OVER? for me personally, what a perfect definition of this little ‘pump’. How many times in a day does it go from one state to another, not only spiritually but physically it turns our blood over and replaces it with fresh artery blood full of oxygen. So it returns the opposite of what it got. Hmmm… SUBHAN ALLAH.

When Allah is speaking of diseases of the heart we find the word Qalb used. Have we ever thought perhaps the diseases can also be given some ‘Oxygen’ in the QALB and returned into the body… filling it with health?….

Fu’aad…

28-surah-al-qasas-the-stories-11-728.jpg

There are slight variations in the translation of this word. BUT.. we find the word Fu’aad is from the verb fa’ada meaning burning or a flame. So we understand, in the above verse, the heart of Musa’s mother became over whelmed with emotion (had it not been for Allah, she would have disclosed her secret SUBHAN ALLAH, makes me emotional).

The Qu’ran used the word Fu’aad to describe those times the heart is OVERWHELMED by emotion, whether that be love, happiness, sadness, lust, anxiety, anger or remorse.

The questioning of each of us on the day of reckoning will also be directly linked to these emotions taking over our HEART, what did we do in these circumstances. The word Fu’aad, reminds us of a great ability of our heart but are we ready to understand how to control our emotion? Can we teach our heart?

Sadr

Al-Nisabouri mentions al-sadr as being another word for heart in the Qur’an, the same way that when we say the “breasts of mankind”, we mean their hearts on the most external and shallow level.Allah often uses sadr when speaking about “expanding the breast” of His prophets such as Musa and the Prophet Muhammad ‎ﷺ.

It is the most broadest and general term. It is used Ibn Surah Nas….

الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ

The one who whispers in the hearts of Mankind.

It is also the place where secrets are kept, where the devil whispers, and where the ego that commands to evil takes hold of a person, but it should be noted that these influential forces, at least linguistically, have access only to the outermost aspect of the heart, not its inner layers, for which WE, individually are accountable for… Do we try to keep it pure or do we allow it be corrupted time to time?…. But really is it possible for the heart of a believer to ever become impure?

Now,… Lets journey towards find out all the secrets held in the heart,.,,
